- centre security (including perimeter security)
- prisoner services (including food services)
- staff training and accreditation
- maintenance of the physical infrastructure.
Depending on security classification and regimes to be applied, the prisoners may be accommodated in Low Security cottage style units or higher security cellblock units.
Prisoner Movement and In-Court Management Services
G4S is also responsible for the contract for the transportation of prisoners and management of prisoners in court. This contract is administered by DCS on behalf of participating agencies.
The contract provides for the movement of most prisoners between prisons, courts, police stations and health services. The contract/G4S is not responsible for the transfer of prisoners with a High1 Security classification.
