When to apply
We are continuously recruiting Correctional Officers throughout the year and specific posts are not advertised.
You can apply now and there is not a closing date.
Throughout the year we do have recruitment drives and we occasionally events across the South Australia to encourage applicants.
Requirements
You must:
- be 18 years or older
- have a current SA Driver license
- be an Australian Citizen or have a Permanent Resident Visa
- pass the 100 point ID check [link to 100 point check]
- pass a satisfactory Police Check
- have background / employer references
- Pre-Employment test results
Recruitment selection
There are several stages to the selection process which include interviews, police record checks and fitness tests.
Training
After successfully being offered a position the new recruit will begin a 12 week training course.
Placement
Correctional Officers can be placed at any of our facilities.
Applicants can indicate an order preference in their application form. Every effort will be made to accommodate the first choice but is based upon the departments requirements.
Sending in your application
Applicants must use the application form supplied with in the Trainee Correctional Officer information and Application Pack.
It must be submitted in hard copy delivered to our ‘GPO address’.
All sections of the application form must be completed before your application can be processed.
We encourage you to include a current resume with your application.
We will acknowledge your application as soon as possible however please allow at least three weeks.
It may take two to three months before you are contacted regarding the next stages of screening and testing.
