Visiting

Visit Booking

Prisoners at Cadell Training Centre are responsible for booking their own face-to-face and video domestic visits. This includes adding visitors to their visitor list.

Telephone bookings by domestic visitors are not accepted.
Visitors can contact the prison via the general enquiries phone number, if required.

All visitors must have 100 points of identification upon entry to Cadell Training Centre, and arrive 15 minutes early. Visitors are advised to bring the same identification to each visit. Please refer to before going to a visit for entry requirements. Otherwise, entry will not be permitted.

For visitors that cannot enter the metal detector for medical reasons (i.e., metal joint replacement, pacemaker), please bring written evidence of approval from the General Manager and a doctor’s certificate, and show to staff on arrival.

Please note visits may be modified when temperatures reach over 38 degrees, and cancelled when the temperature is over 42 degrees.

Visitors are reminded that money transfers to prisoners will only be accepted as bank cheques or as Standard Money Orders will be accepted via Australia Post only.

Special visiting arrangements

Non-contact visit sessions last 60 minutes – and are by arrangement.

Professional visits

Professional visiting hours are generally available Monday to Thursday from 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 16:00.

Upon arrival, all professional visitors must report to the control room to have their identification verified, be processed with a metal detector, and undergo security procedures prior to being admitted into the visit area.

The Cadell Training Centre (CTC) opened in 1960 as a training facility for prisoners to learn vocational skills which may not be available within other prisons. It focuses on the rehabilitation of prisoners and preparing them to take their place in the community upon release.
